Sell Shellac Records, Gramophones, and Needle Cases: Turn Your Old Treasures into Cash!

Please note that we purchase only shellac records and accessories, and no vinyl.

To help us better evaluate your records, please send us

a list that should include at least the following information:

  • Label/Manufacturer of the record
  • Order number (see image)
  • Artist/Title, Side 1
  • Artist/Title, Side 2

Ideally, please provide us with your list in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. Please email us your list and your contact details to info(at)schellack-plattenshop.net

As the cost of purchasing individual records is too high, and as we have, unfortunately, had rather poor experiences with this in the past, we would ask you not to offer us individual records, but only collections or sets.

Purchases from out of Germany usually involve excessively high postage costs. For this reason, we do not make offers here. However, if you are able to post the records from Germany – for example, because you live near the border – you are welcome to offer us your collection.

To save you some trouble, we would like to point out here that the categories/genres: classical music, opera and operettas are of less interest to us.

Please do NOT send us any download files or links (such as to Dropbox or similar) that would allow us to access the list or photos. For security reasons, we are unable to access these.

We will contact you once we have reviewed your enquiry. Due to the high volume of enquiries, it may take some time to process your request.

Please also check the spam folder in your email inbox.

We thank you for your understanding.

Legal information regarding purchases (Disclaimer)

1. Proof of ownership and provenance
By submitting an offer to sell, the seller expressly warrants that they are the lawful owner of the items offered (shellac records, gramophones, needle cases, etc.) or are acting on behalf of the owner with unrestricted authority to sell. The items must be free from any third-party rights (e.g. liens, retention of title). The purchase of stolen goods or unlawfully acquired property is prohibited and will be reported to the police without exception.

2. Identity verification
To safeguard against the purchase of lost property, we are legally obliged to record the seller’s identity upon a successful sale. Before payment is made (whether by cash or bank transfer), you must therefore present a valid form of photo ID (identity card or passport) and complete a simple sales receipt.

3. Non-binding nature of estimates
All price estimates and quotations provided in advance by email, WhatsApp, telephone or via the contact form are subject to change and non-binding. They are based on the information and photographs provided by the seller. A legally binding contract of sale is only concluded once we have physically inspected the goods and carried out a final quality check, and both parties have signed the purchase receipt.

4. Returns where no sale is concluded
Should the goods sent to us by post not match the description following a physical inspection, and should no contract of sale be concluded, we shall return the items to the seller. In this case, the seller shall bear the costs of the return postage.

5. Transfer of risk when shipping
When shipping items, the seller bears the risk of damage to or loss of the goods whilst in transit until they arrive at our premises. We strongly recommend sending items as insured parcels with tracking and using secure, shatterproof packaging (particularly for the highly fragile shellac records).
